Continuum: Lifelong Learning in Neurology – Enhancing Patient Care through Continuing Medical Education

Continuum: Lifelong Learning in Neurology is dedicated to supporting neurology professionals in providing the best possible clinical care to their patients. Our mission is to facilitate continued competency and lifelong learning, ensuring that healthcare professionals stay updated with the latest advancements in neuroscience.

Vision

Our vision is to be the premier continuing medical education publication for neurology professionals, offering the highest quality, in-depth information on topics in neurology. We strive to create a platform that fosters lifelong learning, critical thinking, and self-assessment, ultimately leading to improved patient care.

As the official CME journal of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), Continuum has been a trusted resource for neurology professionals since 1993. Each bimonthly issue is carefully crafted to provide up-to-date knowledge on a single topic area in neurology, written by renowned experts in their field.

Goals and Objectives

The primary goals of Continuum include:

  • Disseminating timely review articles in an engaging and interactive format
  • Fostering self-assessment and lifelong learning skills
  • Encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Strengthening and improving patient care through evidence-based practices

The continuing medical education (CME) component of Continuum includes a 40-question posttest, covering material presented in each issue. This activity provides up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits of self-assessment CME (SA-CME) per issue, supporting neurology professionals in their pursuit of continued competency.

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) has reviewed and approved Continuum as part of a comprehensive lifelong learning and self-assessment program, mandated by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) as a necessary component of continuing certification (CC).
