American Epilepsy Society Fellows Program: Empowering Early Career Epilepsy Professionals

The American Epilepsy Society (AES) Fellows Program is the premier career development program for early career researchers, clinicians, and advanced practice providers in the field of epilepsy. This esteemed program aims to engage promising epilepsy professionals in AES activities, education, and mentoring, and connect them with AES leaders, members, and each other.

The goal of the program is to provide fellows with intensive exposure to epilepsy science, medicine, career skills, and paths, as well as top-notch education, networking opportunities, and social events. The program offers a unique platform for fellows to learn from renowned experts, share their research, and build meaningful connections with peers and mentors.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The AES Fellows Program is open to approximately 105 fellows from institutions in the US and Canada. The program welcomes applications from:

• Clinical fellows in approved epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, or neurosurgery fellowship programs
• Advanced practice providers (up to five)
• Postdoctoral research fellows and trainees (up to 15) with advanced degrees in professional fields related to nursing, pharmacology, pharmacy, psychology, and basic science

Program Details

The AES Fellows Program will take place from December 4-8, 2020. During this period, fellows will participate in a range of activities, including:

• Intensive educational sessions on epilepsy science and medicine
• Career development workshops and mentoring sessions
