About the American Journal of Critical Care

The American Journal of Critical Care (AJCC) is the flagship, peer-reviewed publication of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), dedicated to disseminating cutting-edge research advances in critical care. Since its inception, this bimonthly journal has strived to create a dynamic space for healthcare professionals, including critical care nurses, to engage with original research, innovation, and evidence-based practices in critical care.

The AJCC’s mission is to foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among its readers and AACN members, promoting excellence in critical care research and practice. To achieve this, the journal invites authors to submit original research studies that address pressing questions and challenges in critical care nursing, interprofessional practice, and critical care delivery.

Types of Accepted Research Studies
