Aims and Scope of Annals of Oncology

Annals of Oncology, the official journal of the European Society for Medical Oncology and the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology, is dedicated to providing rapid and efficient peer-reviewed publications on innovative cancer treatments and translational research in oncology and precision medicine.

Main Focus Areas

The journal’s main focuses of interest include:

• Systemic anticancer therapy, with a specific interest in molecular targeted agents and new immune therapies
• Randomized trials, including negative ones, that advance our understanding of cancer treatment
• Top-level guidelines that inform clinical practice and policy
• New fields emerging as key components of personalized medicine, such as:
• Molecular pathology
• Bioinformatics
• Modern statistics
• Biotechnologies

Additionally, manuscripts related to radiotherapy, surgery, and pediatrics will be considered if they demonstrate a clear interaction with one of the above fields or are paradigm-shifting.
