UCSF Radiology Clinical Update: Enhancing Medical Imaging Interpretation

This comprehensive clinical update provides a diverse review of conventional and advanced imaging of the breast, chest, abdomen, neuro, and musculoskeletal systems. The course aims to enhance interpretation of imaging studies acquired in a wide range of common clinical scenarios, covering established applications of CT, MR, US, and mammography, as well as emerging technologies.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this activity, participants will be able to:

• Minimize interpretation errors
• Form appropriate differential diagnosis based on multi-modality imaging of key organ systems
• Apply strategies to minimize patient radiation exposure
• Perceive and accurately interpret subtle and challenging mammographic signs of breast cancer
• Recognize pitfalls in the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism
• Describe key findings of disease on MRI of the brain and spine
• Recognize imaging signs of joint dysfunction in the knee and shoulder
• Apply considerations in U/S, CT, and MRI of the female genitourinary tract
